no follow up on the driver that ran him off? I mean there is assumed risk but that's clearly black flag behavior, its actually criminally bad. I'm hoping his racing career in that series or class is over at least.

Hmmm. From the dash it looked like the Porsche was locking up and spun out causing the crash. And then on that drive-by cam you saw the real culprit... ramming his opponent?

Can someone find out how recently that dude was playing racing video games? That's straight novice/psycho shit. It was shocking.

He was excluded from the meeting and endorsed with 6 points on his license.

There was a guy in 944 Spec like this. He got kicked out of two other NASA regions before landing in SoCal. The guy constantly bent up sheet metal and was hated by the entire group, who, like the fellow in the above video, were all very friendly even through competition. Last I heard (I since sold my 944) the racers were petitioning to get him booted and hopefully won't be allowed to race with NASA again.

I'm shocked, for sure, but in some ways I'm left thinking, "I wish I could say I was surprised." I started racing bicycles (road, track, mountain bike) in '86, as a kid, adding in running (mile, two mile, then 10kms, now marathons), and threw motorsports (track and club days, for fun) in to the mix starting about 4 years ago. I'm afraid I've seen exactly that sort of behavior in every one of those venues. Not all the time, but more often than you'd hope.

It's never the truly fast, talented folks. It's the angry, frustrated also-rans or has-beens, the ones who feel like they're somehow being denied a great destiny at every turn by everyone around them. They'd have been the starting whatever on the football team, "but the coach has it in for me!", they'd be running the company except "the damn CEO thinks I'm a threat!". Their whole lives, they can blame everything on someone or something else. It never once occurs to them that in a long series of screw-ups, they're the only variable held constant. As shown all too clearly in the video, people with clinically low levels of self-awareness are extremely dangerous. Worse, they almost never change. Glad Darren didn't come out the worse for wear.

That 968 driver is asking for trouble. Totally erratic driving there.

When (not if) he wrecks it, I call dibs on that sweet 3.0L engine.
